I like to surf. And I like to make things. So, I created a brand that allows me to do both.
Chumash Coast is named after the area I grew up surfing in Southern California. One of the things that I like to make are hand planes for bodysurfing. The waves aren't always great for surfing, but you can bodysurf almost anything. I hand shape each plane from sustainably sourced Paulownia wood, stamp and seal them, and add hand straps. A portion of my proceeds go to the California State Parks.
And of course I had to make a custom typeface: Chumash Slab.
